Dedrone Employee Spotlight: Tiffany Gaddy

Thanks for joining us, Tiffany! As Dedrone’s HQ Office Manager and HR Employee Experience Manager, can you tell us a bit more about your day-to-day activities?

As Dedrone’s HQ Office Manager and HR Employee Experience Manager, my day can get quite hectic! I have many duties and wear many hats every day. At any given time, I might be scheduling meetings for our CEO, AD Devarakonda, stocking the fridge, refilling the ever-popular snack wall, checking mail, or depositing checks into our bank account.  

I also plan, schedule, and oversee New Hire Orientation classes as part of our employee onboarding process. We’re growing very quickly, so these are becoming even more important to help new Dedronies get settled in!

What do you like best about working at Dedrone?

The culture! While we work hard and have many geniuses on our team, we also play hard. We’re able to put aside our work and enjoy each other’s company…with a little bit of competition from time to time! (I’m still the leader on the basketball scoreboard at one of our local hangouts!)

What do you think is the most important element of airspace security that people might not understand?  

Prior to working at Dedrone, I didn’t quite understand how sophisticated the monitoring systems are and how they need to be layered to best safeguard against potential threats. I think many other people are in the same boat.  

Now, when I’m asked what my company does, I can proudly say, “We save lives!” I’m so blown away by the work that we do and all the new technologies we’ve developed. I’m particularly excited about our work in Drone as First Responder (DFR) technology – I can’t wait to see how far we can go with it!

Can you share a bit more about what you enjoy in your free time?

I spend most of my free time with family and friends, and I love being outside and on the water! We often go kayaking on rivers, and we’ve occasionally camped on islands that we find in the middle of the Potomac or the Shenandoah. When I’m not outside kayaking or lounging in the pool, I’m often in the kitchen baking. The Sterling office loves it when I bring in my famous chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese icing!  

I have a big family, and we try to spend as much time together as possible. I’ve known my husband, Robby, for over 20 years, but we’ve only been together for six years and will be celebrating our two-year wedding anniversary on August 20. He is the love of my life, and I’m so thankful for the life we have created. I have a 14-year old daughter, Kylie; a 15-year old son, Caleb; a 22-year old stepdaughter, Mackenzie; and a 25-year old stepson, Josh. Josh and his fiancée, Morgan, just blessed us with our first grandbaby, Preston, in April. He’s been the highlight of our year so far. They live in North Carolina, so we only see them once a month – our next trip is at the end of this month, and I’m really looking forward to it!    

Finally, we also have a pup named Bruno, who is just as spoiled as our human kids are!

Anything else we should know about you or your work?

I’m a free spirit and love to entertain!  My new role as the Employee Experience Manager is very fitting for me, as I’m always looking for new ways to make Dedrone the best place to work and ensure each employee has a smile on their face.  I’ve often been referred to as the leader of fun in the Sterling office, because I enjoy planning our company outings and welcoming new visitors to our office!
