Maine Department of Corrections (Maine DOC) is responsible for the direction, supervision, guidance, and safety of adult and juvenile correctional facilities throughout the state.

Challenge

A spokesperson from the Special Operations Group at Maine DOC shares: “Having seen the consequences of drones at correctional facilities in the U.S., Maine Department of Corrections understood that it was only a matter of time before we needed to expand our security system into the airspace.”

Solution

Correctional facilities can integrate Dedrone technology to first diagnose their airspace activity, and use this information to build a threat profile. A technology-based threat assessment helps security teams better understand what they should do in terms of dedicating time and resources to addressing unwanted drones in their airspace. As soon as Maine DOC deployed the DedroneSensor, the team was able to see what they couldn’t before - actionable drone activity data to respond to drone threats. The DedroneSensor captured information on the times, dates and types of drones entering their airspace.

Result

By collecting and analyzing this data from DedroneTracker.AI, Maine DOC has been able to advance standard operating procedures when there is a drone in the airspace and reinforce the safety of their facilities and those who live and work there.

Customer quotation mark

Instead of waiting for a crisis, we decided to be proactive and begin collecting data of our airspace activity with DedroneTracker.AI.
